Hello, welcome to Faux Fae Studio a place I like to go to escape, and create!

So who is Faux Fae Studio?

Faux Fae Studio was created in 2022 by me, Vix (hiya!). A 40 something mother of 3, In order to get my head in a good space really. I have always loved to be creative, but never really had an opportunity to do anything about it. I worked full time as a special needs teaching assistant for many years, whilst also being a full time carer to my own children who have various needs themselves. It was taking its toll without me even realising it. After life was lifeing, we moved to the Kent coast to be near family and here we are!

Where do you get your ideas?

I have always had a fascination for all things spooky, different, or intriguing! I think it probably stemmed from Mum's stories about our Romany heritage, and her Grandma who could do magic in front of your eyes . Also my Dad's love of facts about London, and taking us EVERYWHERE! Jack the Ripper walks, the oldest galleried inn in London,  and old sailing ships all whilst being regaled with facts about the plague etc definitely had an impact and I wouldn't change a thing.

Growing up we lived in an old haunted fruit pickers cottage from 1860, there were quite a few spooky happenings over the years but it seems to be pretty quiet now.

I loved heavy metal and grunge music, my favourite film was probably The Lost boys. That probably gives you an idea how my brain works. I fell in love with the magical world of wizards which has now unfortunately been tainted by 'she who must not be named', but there is no denying she writes a good book.

A lot of my items have their base on a true life historical event I may have read about, or it could be just an idea that popped in there one day you can never tell when inspiration will hit.

So basically I'm a 40 something mum with too many ideas, who gets distracted very easily, who would very much like to do this for a living please, thank you.
